Biriwa, April 11, GNA - The Chairman of the Interim Management Committee of the Mfantseman Community Bank at Biriwa in the Central Region, Rev. George Ato Mills Graves has cautioned people who want to adopt anonymous letter writing to destroy the bank to stop it since such action would not deter the management and the board from pursuing their course to make the bank one of the leading rural banks in the country.

He invited anyone who had any problem with any member of the board or management to come forward with the problem and stop hiding behind anonymous letter writing, which would not serve any good purpose.

Rev. Mills Graves who gave the warning at a board meeting at Biriwa assured customers and shareholders of the bank that their monies were safe. They should not panic over the publication of the auditors report, which revealed fraud by some bank officials and members of the dissolved board.

The chairman said with the help of the Bank of Ghana the IMC and the management had streamlined operations of the bank and adopted measures, which were yielding fruitful results.

Presently any amount of genuine cheque presented at the bank would be honoured without difficulty.

"This notwithstanding, we will adopt stringent measures to recover monies stolen by some members of the dissolved board and the bank's staff," he assured them.

He appealed to Mr. Richmond Essandoh, Mr. Fareed Dadzie, Mr. Moses Arthur and Mr. Kojo Ellis all former bank staff to report to the management for negotiations for re-payment of their indebtedness.

Rev. Mills Graves appealed to customers whose loans were overdue for payment to settle them to avoid embarrassment.

The bank would start prosecuting its debtors, including some members of the dissolved board if they failed to make reasonable negotiations for payment by the end of this month.

He cautioned people who used fictitious names and addresses to secure loans from the bank to own up before they were exposed.
