Manso-Nkran (Ashanti Region), 8, Oct. Amansie Resources, an Australian Mining Company operating in the Amansie West District, has presented building materials worth about 6.4 million cedis to four communities in the area for the rehabilitation of their school block. The communities are Manso-Nkwanta, Koniase, Dadease and Manso- Kwankyiebo. The items include six bundles of roofing sheets, 60 bags of cement, paint, wooden boards and nails. Mr Noel Rollo, Mines Manager who presented the items, said the company even though comparatively new, is prepared to assist the communities to initiate development projects. He said the company has constructed a four-kilometre road from Manso-Nkran to Kwankyiabo to facilitate the evacuation of cocoa and foodstuffs. The Amansie West District Chief Executive, Mr Kwaku Aninkora- Sie, suggested to the communities to build another school and pledged that the assembly would provide technical expertise for the project. Mr H. K. Ofori Awuah, the District Director of Education, said his outfit and the District Assembly have initiated moves to bring to book parents who deny their children basic education.
