The Ministry of Trade and Industries has suspended the operations of the Anti-Piracy Textile Task-force.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Tuesday, Mr Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industries said the task-force had been suspended for the time being for a meeting of all stakeholders to streamline its operation.
He said after the meeting, the task-force would be reviewed and evaluated without compromising the protection of local industries.
The anti-piracy textile task-force on Monday raided the 31st December Market at Makola in the central business district of Accra and seized wax prints of pirated logos and property rights of Ghanaian textile printing companies.
The task-force was made up of representatives of textile companies, the Police, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority and the Ministry of Trade and Industries.
