Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri
Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, has received two awards in recognition of his contributions to environmental sustainability, green development and efforts to advance environmental concerns through the legislative process.
The lawmaker received the Green Societal Impact and Sustainability Ambassadorial Award and the ICESDA Green Capital Partnership Award at the 3rd International Conference on ESG and Sustainable Development of Africa (ICESDA).
The conference focused on promoting sustainable development and inclusive green growth across the continent.
Held under the theme “The Africa We Want: Driving Transformational Inclusive Green Growth Through ESG and Digitalization,” the conference brought together stakeholders to explore environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and the role of digitalisation in accelerating Africa’s sustainable development agenda.
During the award presentation, Annoh-Dompreh was recognised for drawing parliamentary attention to environmental issues affecting communities and supporting efforts to advance green legislation, including at times when such concerns were not widely regarded as urgent or politically popular.

The presenters highlighted his legislative role in linking environmental challenges at the community level to national policymaking.
The recognition also underscored the importance of incorporating environmental evidence into legislative debates and decision-making, particularly as African countries seek to balance economic development with environmental protection.
The Green Societal Impact and Sustainability Ambassadorial Award acknowledged his efforts to promote environmental issues through Parliament and advocate legislative action on sustainability.
The ICESDA Green Capital Partnership Award was the second honour conferred on the MP at the conference.
Annoh-Dompreh’s recognition comes amid growing calls for African governments to integrate environmental sustainability into public policy, infrastructure development, and economic planning.
Across the continent, challenges such as climate change, environmental degradation, waste management, and increasing pressure on natural resources have heightened the need for policies that promote economic growth while protecting communities and ecosystems.
The conference provided a platform for discussions on how ESG principles and digital technologies can contribute to more inclusive and sustainable development.
Its theme highlighted the importance of partnerships among policymakers, businesses, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders in building a sustainable future for Africa.
