Sekondi Oct. 8, GNA - The National Board for Small-Scale Industries (NBSSI) is to come out with a framework to assist micro and small enterprises to win contracts in the emerging oil and gas industry. Mr. John Gershom Koomson, Western Regional Director of the NBSSI, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview on Friday at Sekondi. He said the framework formed part of a project being undertaken by the NBSSI to address gaps in the manner micro and small enterprises access contracts.
Sekondi Oct. 8, GNA - The National Board for Small-Scale Industries (NBSSI) is to come out with a framework to assist micro and small enterprises to win contracts in the emerging oil and gas industry. Mr. John Gershom Koomson, Western Regional Director of the NBSSI, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview on Friday at Sekondi. He said the framework formed part of a project being undertaken by the NBSSI to address gaps in the manner micro and small enterprises access contracts. Mr. Koomson said the framework would include guidelines on how micro and small enterprises could lobby for sub-contracts from oil and gas companies. It also includes job opportunities in the oil and energy sectors and how the enterprises could form clusters to undertake contracts. Mr. Koomson said some micro and small enterprises do not know how to source and accessing contracts from oil and gas companies. He said this had resulted in oil and gas companies importing items that could be produced locally. Mr. Koomson said the framework would assist micro and small enterprises to expand to withstand competition in the industry. A training manual would, consequently, be prepared to assist in the training of micro and small enterprises and the staff of the NBSSI. 0
