The Chereponi District Directorate of the NCCE sensitized artisans, transport operators, faith based groups, traditional authorities, women’s groups, identifiable economic groups and taxable persons as well as other entities in a total of 15 communities.

Mr Mohammed Saani, the Chereponi District Director of NCCE, told the GNA after the sensitisation that, the outreached exercise employed field visits, dusk to dawn broadcast as well as radio engagements as some of the strategies used to disseminate the right information for public engagement.

He said the outreach exercise was intended to identify economic groups and identifiable social groups within the districts to sensitise them on tax compliance to increase revenue collection to boost the economy for development.

He indicated that honouring tax obligation was a civic duty and a constitutional mandate on every citizen and must be performed to generate revenue to increase the national purse of government to bring development.
