The National Entrepreneur and Innovation Plan (NEIP) has urged the general public to be wary of unscrupulous individuals who use its name to defraud people.

A statement issued and signed by Joseph Osei-Oppong Brenya of the Media Relations and ICT Department of NEIP, indicated “it has come to our notice that some unscrupulous individuals are using the name of NEIP to defraud people.”

“They ask people to send money to them to enable them access NEIP Business Support Programme and take part in the training.”

It said “they operate through phone calls, TXT messages and social media.”

“We want to state clearly that these individuals are not staff of NEIP. Anyone who has or will encounter these fraudsters should not pay money or anything in kind. Applicants of NEIP Business Support Programme are currently being taken through training by selected incubation hubs across the country.”

According to NEIP, “Training is free and applicants do not need to pay any money to be selected for funding.”

Applicants would be contacted by Incubation Hubs for the training.
