The Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, has revealed that the authority is set to give license to private lotto operators to operate ‘Banker to Banker’ in approved areas.
At a meeting with private lotto operators at the NLA Head office in Accra, Mr Kofi Osei-Ameyaw explained that the licensing fees shall be determined by the board in accordance with relevant provisions of Act 722 and LI 1948.
He added that the NLA shall approve unique and identifiable NLA licensed Banker-to-Banker tickets for each operator in the various regions.
He, however, stated that licensed operators chosen to operate in approved areas shall not be allowed to transact business in other regions without approval from NLA.
According to him, the NLA shall register and issue ID cards as well as operator license to all agents and writers of NLA.
He hinted that over 200 private lotto operators have so far registered with the NLA, adding that the number is expected to increase to 500 in four months.
He advised private lotto operators to pick up application forms at the regional offices of the NLA or download application forms NLA’s official website.
