The Deputy Minister for Information, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, has assured of government’s commitment to making policies that it has outlined in the budget feasible to grow the economy.
It is in this light that, according to her, government in partnership with the B&FT has put together a dialogue session to engage stakeholders in the private sector to achieve the set objectives.
Ms. Asiamah-Adjei said this in her speech at the opening of the maiden National Policy Summit held today in Accra.
“Inherent in the budget, are policies to boost the real sector of our economy. Indeed, so much has been said about how some of these government policies seem impracticable.
But I want to assure you that government is committed to making all of these policies real governing policies and programmes and this is why we have invited you to here today for us to engage in a dialogue on the way forward”, she said.
The two-day summit is also designed to also educate and inform stakeholders about how some major policies will be implemented.
Topics to be covered include opportunities that exist in the real sector (Agric, industry and services), Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP), Revenue, Expenditure and Public Financial Management Act, and debt and financial sector management strategies and implications on the economy among others.
