New 50 cedi note out today

The new Fifty Ghana Cedi notes will be in circulation from today Tuesday 21 August. The Bank of Ghana is introducing the new notes to stop fraudsters from printing counterfeits.

The new note has a cocoa pod that replaces the holographic patch whilst the number 50 at the bottom of the front is now green instead of gold.

XYZ NEWS has learnt that the initial notes will have the signature of Vice President Kwesi Amisah-Arthur because they were introduced during his tenure as governor of the central bank.
