Park Agro Tech Ghana Limited has launched a new poultry feed into the market called, Lay More Poultry Feed, to help boost the poultry industry.
Speaking at the launch at the M Plaza Hotel in Accra on Thursday, 23 February 2018, the Managing Director of the company, Mr Latit Mishra, said the Lay More Poultry Feed had been produced under a robust bio-security, hygienic and automated operational system.
He noted that the feed was produced with modern technology that left little space for contamination of the final product because there is little human interference.
The poultry feed, according to him would not only help reduce the importation of poultry inputs but also contribute to job creation.
Present at the event were the Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr Birender Singh Yadav, and actor John Dumelo, who owns a farming business.
On his part, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin called on government to support farmers to expand their production.
"There is a viable market for poultry in this country and so the right support ought to be given to farmers to take advantage of it,” he said, adding that “the President should find a way to make credit available to smallholder farmers and also strengthen partnerships with the private sector to boost the poultry sector".
