A new truck, specially designed for the road conditions in the country, the Hino 300 series, has been launched in Tema.
"Equipped with a powerful engine to overcome the stress of road conditions in Ghana, the truck has flexibility of use, and comfort of ride for the driver," Mr. Takahiko Tabayashi, Managing Director of Toyota Ghana Company Limited (TGCL) said at the launch.
"Ghana is under-going tremendous infrastructural transformation, which has increased economic activity."
Mr. Tabayishi said this required the support of effective transportation, "and we in TGCL and our partners from Hino Motor, recognise this period as the most appropriate time to introduce Hino trucks in Ghana".
"Our commitment as a company would be to listen to the concerns of our customers, and to meet their demands for our mutual growth."
Alhaji Antieye Tetteh, District Chief Executive for Kpone Katamanso, who was the guest of honour, said the Hino technology had been in the market before, "and we trust it".
He said the truck measured up to the Hino of the past, adding, "and this can guarantee value for money."
Alhaji Tetteh, urged TGCL to consider some of its credible customers for special offer of its products.
This, he said, could be in the form of hire purchase, to enable those who are unable to raise funds wholly, to also own your brand of vehicles.
Hino Motors Ltd is a leading manufacturer of trucks and buses in Japan.
