Sunyani, July 19, GNA - The Management of Newmont Gold Ghana Limited poured its first gold dore bars at its Ahafo Project in Brong Ahafo on Tuesday.
In a statement issued in Sunyani, Mr Bill Zisch, Vice President of Newmont for Africa and Central Asia Operations, said "This landmark event signifies completed testing and commissioning of our processing plant facility.
"The plant would continue to ramp up to full design capacity soon and we fully anticipate production of between 225,000 ounces to 250,000 ounces of gold by the end of this year," it said.
The Management expressed appreciation to stakeholders in the mining industry for their support to the Company to achieve its objective adding: "We look forward to celebrating the project's inauguration in November this year."
