No Decision to mint two pesewa coin -BOG

Dear Sir/Madam,

Following the publication of a story on the front page of the April 19, 2010 edition of the FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE newspaper headlined “Two pesewa coin out soon ….one pesewa to be modified", the Bank of Ghana wishes to state the following:

•    The Bank of Ghana has not taken any decision to mint two pesewa coins as published.

•    The Bank is however considering modifying the size of the one pesewa (1Gp) coin. We have therefore begun a survey to solicit ideas from the general public as to the appropriate size.
