Nominations open for 2013 Ghana Entrepreneur Awards

Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana (EFG) has opened nominations for the fourth edition of the Ghana Entrepreneur Awards Gala 2013.

A statement issued in Accra by the Founder and President of EFG, Mr Sam Ato Gaisie, set February 15, as the deadline for entries of nominations.

The awards gala on the theme: “Public and Private Sector Partnership, the key to National Development,” is endorsed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Finance.

The theme was chosen to enhance business relationship between the public and private sector and also promote Public-Private Partnership

The statement said short listed nominees of the awards would be announced at a “Special Meet the Nominees” Cocktail Reception, which would be an exclusive networking event for business executives, diplomatic corps, government officials and sponsors.

Award winners would be honoured at a gala dinner scheduled for April 25, at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra.

The key objectives of the awards are to reward the best entrepreneurs in the Ghanaian business community, by showcasing the business leaders and also inspire the citizenry to undertake entrepreneurship as the path of success.

It said the judging criteria would include an assessment of entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance and growth, vision and innovation, personal integrity and commitment, strategic marketing and corporate social responsibility involvement in Ghana’s economic growth.

A panel of judges will be invited to review the nominations and decide winners in the various categories.

The Personality award categories are: Overall Best Entrepreneur of the Year 2013, Lifetime Entrepreneur Achievement, Special Entrepreneur Achievement, Woman Entrepreneur, Young Entrepreneur and Most-Promising Entrepreneur.

The rest are: Best Entrepreneur in Manufacturing and Micro/Small Industry, Agri-Business, Banking & Finance, Non Financial, Pharmaceutical and Health Care, Oil & Gas, Electronic & Electricals. Retailing & Trading, Entertainment & Art, and Multi-Media Services.

Others are Food and Beverages, Transportation and Logistics, Hospitality Industry, Travel and Tourism, Property and Real Estate Development, Building and Civil Engineering. Education, and Information Communications Technology and Telecommunication.
