Otumfuo Osei Tutu II honors Andrew Kwabena Asamoah at 2025 Millennium Excellence Awards

The Founder and Executive Chairman of A&C Development Co. Ltd., Andrew Kwabena Asamoah, has been honored by His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the 2025 Millennium Excellence Awards for his outstanding contribution to Retail and Commerce Innovation.

The Millennium Excellence Awards, held under the patronage of the Asantehene on Friday, May 9, 2025, celebrate individuals and institutions that have made significant impacts across various sectors of national and continental development.

The Retail and Commerce Innovation category specifically recognizes trailblazing achievements that enhance customer experiences, drive operational efficiency, and promote sustainable growth through innovative business strategies.

Awardees typically excel in areas such as digital transformation, e-commerce, customer service innovation, supply chain advancements, and environmentally responsible practices.

Asamoah’s recognition highlights his pivotal role in shaping Ghana’s modern retail and commercial real estate landscape. Under his visionary leadership, A&C Development has transformed A&C Mall from a conventional shopping center into a dynamic, mixed-use urban complex.

Located in East Legon, Accra, A&C Mall now comprises retail outlets, office spaces, recreational facilities, and more, serving as a hub for business and leisure.

In addition to A&C Mall, the company has expanded its footprint through developments such as A&C Corner and A&C Village, reinforcing its contribution to urban development and economic transformation in Ghana.

Andrew Kwabena Asamoah is a distinguished entrepreneur and legal professional with an illustrious career in global public health. Before venturing into real estate, he served for three decades at the World Health Organization (WHO), holding several key positions including Director of Administration and Finance.

Upon returning to Ghana in 2002, he recognized the need for world-class retail infrastructure and founded A&C Development Co. Ltd., leading to the establishment of Ghana’s first shopping mall, which officially opened in 2006.

His recognition at the 2025 Millennium Excellence Awards affirms his legacy as a pioneer of modern retail and a driver of economic innovation in Ghana and beyond.

Other distinguished recipients of the Lifetime Africa Achievement Prize at the event included Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, CEO of Despite Group of Companies, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, CEO of Special Ice Water, Dr. Nick Danso, CEO of Ghana Link Network Services.

The ceremony had President John Mahama as the Special Guest of Honour.
