Over 1,000 Tigo subscribers win GH¢570,000 cash prizes

Accra, Feb. 24, GNA - Nearly 1,200 Tigo Mobile subscribers have won various cash prizes amounting to GH¢570,000 comprising daily, weekly, seasonal text and win promotion, which started November last year. Mr Enoch Vanderpuye, the Media Manager of the Tigo told the Ghana News Agency on Monday that the 13-week promotion, which ended February 5th this month, was to reward Tigo loyal customers and cushion them to enable them t= o meet some financial needs in their lives.

It was Tigo's Christmas and New Year Bonanza for subscribers. Mr Vanderpuye said 10 subscribers each during the promotion won GH¢1= 00 each, two subscribers received GH¢500 each and one subscriber, GH¢1,000= .. Two highest texter prizes of GH¢10,000 each were won by subscribers on 24th December, 2010 and 15th January, 2011. To participate, subscribers sent key word 93TIGO" to short code 303= 0 at 35 pesewas per text.

Mr Edmond Boateng a taxi driver of Palladium, Accra emerged the grand prize winner and he took home a brand new Mercedes Benz ML plus GH¢150,00= 0 cash. Mr Boateng, who lives in a rented apartment at Palladium in Accra, sai= d he would use the GH¢150,000 to build his own house. Mr Vanderpuye said Tigo was elated that through the Christmas Bonanza, there had been an improvement in the quality of life of the winning subscribers and their loved ones.
