A press release by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has announced that the prices of Liquefied Petrol Gas (LPG) and petrol will be stabilized, effective January 1, 2018.
This initiative is due to the reduction in crude and petroleum prices at the international level, coupled with the stability in the exchange rate.
Below is the press release issued by the NPA:
PRICES OF PETROL AND LPG TO REMAIN STABLE AT THE PUMPS
The National Petroleum Authority announces to the general public stability in prices of LPG and Petrol at the pumps, effective January 1, 2018.
This is in line with drop in crude and petroleum prices at the world market, as well as stability in the Exchange Rate.
The Authority has equally activated the Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy to stem potential upward adjustment in the price of diesel.
The NPA wishes to assure the public of its commitment to monitor the situation in order to ensure the full benefit of the reduction is felt.
