Chief Executive Officer of Airport View Hotel, Francis Fori Dwumah has bitterly lamented how prostitutes are tarnishing the image of hotel business in Ghana.

He said the hotel business forms a huge part of Ghana's tourism, creative and art industry, therefore, maintaining its dignity and sanity is very essential to the progress of this country.

"Airport view hotel has beefed up its security to ensure that prostitutes will not be entertained in and around the premises of the hotel because matters concerning customers are paramount to their heart therefore under no circumstance will they expose their customers to such persons," he said.

To buttress his statement, Mr. Dwumah said apart from tarnishing the image of hotels, these unscrupulous persons tend to steal from customers and sometimes serve as an accomplice to robbers which put the life of customers in peril.

He, therefore, urged his colleagues in the hotel industry to put in measures to restore sanity as some Ghanaians already believe that hotels serve as centres for promiscuity, hence preventing prostitutes from plying their trade at hotels will help erase that perception and also restore the dignity of hotel business in Ghana.

He also appealed to the government to grant hotels concessionary rates on items they import from outside and also review the various tariffs we have in this country.
