For the second year in a row Mr Hamidu Mohammed, a dealer managing three Puma Energy service stations in the Ashanti region, has emerged victorious as Dealer of the Year 2019 – and consequently US$5,000 richer.
This impressive feat took place during the 2019 Retail Conference and Awards organised by Puma Energy, a global integrated mid and downstream energy company with a local focus. Themed “Partners in Excellence – Excellent Service; Excellent Standards”, the conference brought together the largest number of dealers to date, along with a number of station managers, the retail team, leadership team and key support functions to the retail outfit.
Puma Energy also rewarded several other service station dealers and forecourt staff across the country during the awards event.
Speaking upon receipt of his award – a crystal plaque, a citation and five thousand U.S. dollars, Mr. Mohammed had the following to say:
“In fact, I was very surprised. Yes, I have worked hard and done my best, but I never expected to win ‘Dealer of the Year’ for two years in a row! I’m grateful to Puma Energy, more so for the level of support they give us as dealers. It is rare, and we appreciate it,” said Mr. Mohammed.
In addition, Mr. Mohammed also bagged the award for Lubricant Site of the Year 2018 for his Puma service station at Asafo, Kumasi.
During the awards night, the Managing Director for Puma Energy Distribution Ghana Limited, Mr. Yahaya Yunusa, commended all dealers for their dedication to contributing to the growth of the Puma Energy brand in Ghana.
“2018 was a good year, where we increased our volumes significantly. This kind of growth is phenomenal in a market that is so fragmented. For this reason, we must commend our stakeholders – especially our dealers – that have helped us grow to where we are today as Puma Energy in Ghana,” said Mr. Yunusa.
The Retail Manager for Ghana, Mr. Andrews Wiafe, highlighted the centrality of dealers’ contribution to the success of the business.
“We owe our outstanding results in the past year to our dealers who have helped us so much. So it was in order to duly recognise all those who have gone the extra mile to make this success possible, while using this to inspire other dealers to do even better next year,” said Mr. Wiafe. 2
