Rattan and bamboo products patronage on the rise,in Sunyani

The love for rattan and bamboo products is currently on the increase in the Brong Ahafo regional capital, Sunyani.

Recent visit to MP Limited dealers in rattan and bamboo products in the Sunyani Municipality and its environs saw many people who had come there to order some bamboo and rattan products.

Need Oppong, who had come to order for some chairs in an interview with Kasapafmonline.com said she loves natural products this she disclosed encouraged her to order for some of the products for her sitting room.

“I love natural things, I have some of the bamboo and rattan products already but have decided to add more because they are good. If government is to support the bamboo and rattan business in the country, it would go along way to create more jobs in the country,” Ms Oppong noted.

Owner of MP Limited, Michael Mbilla revealed that the patronage has been good.

According to him when he started the bamboo and rattan business the patronage was very low but things are changing because people now come around to order for some of the products.

Mr. Mbilla also noted that raw materials is difficult to come by and he has to travel to the Western Region to get them.

“The raw materials are not available in the Brong Ahafo Region so I have to travel to the Western Region to get them for my work and this comes with a cost,”Mr Mbilla disclosed.

He called on government to support the bamboo and rattan business in the country because it has the potential to create jobs for unemployed youth in the country.
