I refer to the 14th January, 2015 publication on your website www.ghanaweb.com with the above heading, to draw your attention to some factual errors and correct the misrepresentation.

In your publication, you quote one Mr Kojo Poku, an energy analyst saying that during the 14 days planned routine maintenance shutdown of the Ghana Gas Processing Plant at Atuabo from15th January, 2015, gas produced from the Jubilee field will be flared.

Please be informed that Tullow as the Operator of the Jubilee field will NOT be flaring gas during this period. While gas processing plant is on shutdown, the gas which would have been exported onshore to the plant will be re-injected into the gas reservoir.

Tullow will take advantage of the shutdown of the gas processing plant to undertake a gas compression shutdown on the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah to install a new equipment from 16th to 18th January, 2016.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has however, issued Tullow a permit to flare up to 80mmscf of gas per day during this three (3) day period only.

Yours Sincerely
