The real estate industry in Ghana has seen an influx of agents serving as a connection between property owners and house-hunters. This has prompted the need for knowledgeable and well-organized professionals who can assist house hunters make the right decisions in respect of choosing a home.

The Ghana Real Estate Professional Association (GREPA), a body of professional agents and brokers was formed two years ago to streamline the industry. With the view of ensuring a more transparent and professional sector, GREPA has been sensitizing members on these needs.

However, the Co-founder and associate of GREPA, Mr Jules E. Williams gave a damning assessment of the current situation involving the real estate agency sector. According to him, agents are “the eyes and ears of the industry. But unfortunately in Ghana, because of a lot of agents’ and brokers’ approach, we are perceived to be a nuisance rather than an asset.”

Mr Williams highlighted the need for agents to undergo training in order to ensure quality service within the industry.

In view of this, Lamudi, in collaboration with Windzor Realty, will be organizing a free “Agent Education Series” to train agents within the Accra Metropolis.

“With a lot of training and sensitizing of operators in the [real estate] industry, agents, brokers and real estate professionals should see themselves championing quality real estate acquisition and disposal,” Mr Williams stressed.

Lamudi Agent Education Series The Lamudi Agent Education Series is geared at equipping agents with the necessary skills needed to succeed as a real estate agent in the 21st century.

With a focus on customer service, professional communication styles and online marketing, experts from the real estate industry will also guest lecture to provide professional insight and ensure that real estate agents provide customers with the best of services.

The training sessions will take place on Thursday, 6th November, Thursday, 20th November, and Thursday, 11th December. Each session will start at 9.30 am and end at 12:00 pm.

The series will take place at the Lamudi Ghana office on the first floor of the Aquatec Place, 222 Ashiakle Street (Maame Dorkuno Junction), Abelenkpe, Accra, Ghana.
