The Board of Directors, Management and Staff of RevNet Limited, a Ghanaian IT Service Provider Company that seeks to tailor a revenue tracking, monitoring and collection management service to meet the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies’ (MMDAs) requirements in a least-cost, low risk and most responsive manner says it is saddened by the sudden departure of His Excellency the President, Professor John Evans Fiifi Attah Mills to eternity. RevNet, which implements the Electronic Banking System-Revenue Cycle Monitoring Service (EBS-RCM) noted that it is with great shock and immense sadness that the company received news of the sudden demise of Professor Atta Mills, on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, which is described as “Black Tuesday.” A statement issued and signed in Accra by its acting Managing Director, Opeyemi Ogungbo, on behalf of the Board of Directors said the late President will always be remembered as a victor who did his best during his tenure as President of Ghana to advance the process of good governance, democratic consolidation and social-economic development in Ghana.

The statement described President Atta Mills as a very humble man who loved his motherland and worked dearly towards it’s elevation in all spheres saying that the late President’s love for peace endeared him the title "Asomdwoehene." “We at RevNet were deeply saddened by the news of the sudden passing on to eternity. At this moment, we join the whole of Ghana in offering our deepest sympathy to the bereaved family, especially his wife Dr. Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills and son Samuel Atta Mills, the President, John Dramani Mahama, the Vice President, the Executive, the Council of State, the Legislature, MMDAs, the good people of Ghana and the entire West African community. “The great Professor will be greatly missed and fondly be remembered by the people of Ghana. Indeed, Asomdwee hene, you were a blessing to Ghana and you will continue to live in our hearts. Ghana has really lost a ‘precious stone’ at this critical moment in our political dispensation,” the statement stated. The statement, which said the late Prof. Atta Mills was an embodiment of peace whose demise must serve as a rallying point to unite Ghanaians, said the only befitting tribute to the memory of the President was for Ghanaians to ensure that the country remained united, peaceful and stable before, during and after the December polls.

It appealed to Ghanaians to accord political and spiritual leaders the due acknowledgment and respect by celebrating them for their accomplishment whilst they live so as to encourage them to give off their best for the development of the nation. “Let us rally solidly behind the government in its bit to build a better Ghana so that we can succeed as one nation with a common destiny.”
