Rotaract Ghana holds leadership training

The National Office of Rotaract Ghana has held its 2013-2014 leadership training for all Rotaract club directors in the country.

The event which took place in Accra hosted 70 Rotaractors across the country. The training was aimed at helping participants to shape their community service skills, build their leadership and professional capacities.

Participants were taken through some areas of social focus including: Disease Prevention and Treatment, Water and Sanitation, Maternal and Child Health, Basic Education and Literacy and Economic and Community Development.

Mr Alpha-Abbey Odani, Assistant District 9102 Rotaract Representative (ADRR) in his open address urged participants to take advantage of the training to advance the course of Rotary which is to build international understanding through peace.

“As Rotaractors, we must promote world peace and understanding as we engage each other to change lives through our community service projects,” he said. The Rotaract District 9102 has nearly 1,000 members from 46 clubs in Benin, Ghana, Niger and Togo and it is headed by a Ghanaian, Mr Samuel Owusu Darko.

Rotaract, is a service club for young men and women aged 18 to 30 who are dedicated to community and international service.

The purpose of Rotaract is to provide opportunities for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote world peace and international understanding through a framework of friendship and service.
