Accra, Sept. 26, GNA - Samir Engineering and Trading Company Limited, dealers in auto accessories such as tyres and batteries, on Wednesday donated 15 computers and accessories valued GH=A222,000 (220 million cedis) to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) for its Burma Hall Library.

The accessories included uninterrupted power supply unit and printers.

Mr Danny Carboo, Public Relations consultant, who presented the computers, said the donation was in appreciation of the military's outstanding performance in international peacekeeping worldwide, as well as the high standard of discipline the officers and men exhibited wherever they served.

Mr Albert Kan-Dapaah, Minister of Defence, who received the computers, said the Burma Hall library facility was established to give opportunity to the military personnel to improve upon their knowledge in Information Communication Technology (ICT).

He said the GAF had played a major role in the ICT industry in the country, adding that the revolution of the Internet today was designed by the military in United States for communication and research purposes.

Mr Kan-Dapaah said the library was still being developed and would be open to the general public.
