Samsung launches new washing machine

Samsung Electronics has launched its latest washing machine on to the Ghanaian market: the revolutionary “Samsung Activ Dualwash”.

The machine which features an in-built sink with water jet and a gentle scrubbing surface under the lid, is expected to ease washing by allowing users to do pre-washing in the sink while standing and dropping clothes inside the machine afterwards.

The company said scientists have proved that pre-washing in a standing position could reduce pressure on the spine by as much as 43 per cent.

“A caring brand like Samsung always wants to give consumers the most convenient way of doing things. The Activ Dualwash comes with an in-built sink inside the machine so it takes away a lot of pain from the back”, Mr Vishwas Saxena the company’s Director of Consumer Electronics, said at the product launch in Accra.

Mr Selorm Abasa-Addo, Products Manager for Washing Machines, said the detergent dispenser of the machine has a fan inside which ensures that detergent dissolves completely, maximising detergent use by avoiding the usual bits of residue.

He said Samsung’s wobble technology ensures a vertical washing motion that prevents twists and tangles in clothes and reduces creasing.

Mr Abasa-Addo said the product is capable of recollecting its last settings and has a filter, which traps lint and dirt particles, ensuring a clean wash.

The company said the washing machine which comes in various load capacities is now available at authorised Samsung dealer shops with a price ranging from GH¢2,200.00 to GH¢2,500.00 depending on the capacity.
