Serene Insurance will uphold highest standards of integrity, professionalism - CEO

The Ho branch of Serene Insurance Company Limited has been launched with a promise to be highly professional.

Speaking at the launch, founder and chairman of First Sky Group - mother company of Serence Insurance Limited - Eric Seddy Kutortse said, "Serene Insurance was incorporated out of a genuine desire to see a paradigm shift in the manner in which insurance business is conducted in Ghana, and to stand out as “The New Face of Insurance”, not only by redefining public perception through prompt payment of legitimate claims, but by introducing a service culture that places the client at the heart of everything we do."

MR. CHAIRMAN, HON. VOLTA REGIONAL MINISTER, DR. ARCHIBALD YAO LETSA, HON. MINISTERS OF STATE PRESENT, TORGBUIGA, MAMAGA, DISTINGUISHED BOARD MEMBERS OF SERENE INSURANCE, INVITED GUESTS, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,

It is my singular honour to address you on this momentous occasion to inaugurate a branch office of Serene Insurance Company Limited here in Ho.

The First Sky Group is exceedingly grateful to the venerable chiefs and people of this land, for the warm reception you have always accorded us.

This region is my home, and we will continue to be a strategic partner in your forward-match towards prosperity, peace and development.

Mr. Chairman, as has already been intimated by the Chief Executive Officer of Serene Insurance, the inauguration of this branch office is the first of its kind outside of the Greater Accra Region, since Serene Insurance Company Limited was licensed sometime in April 2018, and subsequently inaugurated in September of the same year, to underwrite General Insurance business.

Serene Insurance was incorporated out of a genuine desire to see a paradigm shift in the manner in which insurance business is conducted in Ghana, and to stand out as “The New Face of Insurance”, not only by redefining public perception through prompt payment of legitimate claims, but by introducing a service culture that places the client at the heart of everything we do.

Founded on the time-tested core values of the First Sky Group, which include integrity, hard work, excellence and good corporate governance, the Company is growing in leaps and bounds thanks to the grace of the Almighty God, and is fast earning the trust of Ghanaians as their preferred insurer.

Mr. Chairman, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, it is worthy of note that the Volta Region is home to a fast-growing economy, with increasing economic and human activity in places such as Ho, Kpando, Hohoe, Aflao among others.

According to the National Insurance Commission (NIC’s) annual report, only 30% of Ghanaians have insurance cover, whilst motor insurance which is the most common and dominant product, contributed only 37% of gross premium in 2018.

What this means is that, there is still huge and untapped potential in several regions, including the Volta Region which has a growing motor hub in various commercial districts. Serene insurance is therefore here to help bridge the gap that exists between the widespread need for insurance services as against the extreme concentration of such services in Accra and its surrounding areas.

I am glad to announce today that by the second quarter of 2020, Serene Insurance would have fulfilled the New Minimum Capital Requirement outlined by the Regulator, one clear year ahead of the deadline stipulated by the NIC. I also wish to add, that the inauguration of the Ho branch today will soon be followed by the commissioning of another branch in Kumasi in January next year, and two other branches in Tarkoradi and Koforidua respectively.

Mr. Chairman, Hon. Minister, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, our decision to bring our services closer to the doorsteps of our people is a testament to our commitment to overcome all barriers to the economic upliftment of our people.

The overriding motive of the First Sky Group is at all times driven by service to God and mankind, pursuit of humanitarian cause and a just society. As a business, we believe we have a responsibility to our maker to advance God’s kingdom and help ameliorate unfortunate human conditions.
