South Akim Bank rewards loyal customers

Mr Joseph Sarpong, a customer of the South Akim Rural Bank at Asamankese in the Eastern Region, has won the first prize of a 46-inch LED Television in a raffle bonanza draw organized by the bank to reward its loyal customers.

The draw, the fifth since the bank's establishment in 2005, saw 20 customers winning various prizes.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview in Koforidua, Mr Richard Kpodji, Marketing Manager of the bank, said it organized the raffle promotion known as “Akyedee,” to provide its valued customers and shareholders, the opportunity to either deposit GH¢ 500.00 in their accounts, or purchase shares worth GH¢200.00.

Mr Kpodji said over the years, the bank had rewarded its loyal customers and shareholders through raffle draws, and assured them that other innovations would be implemented to appreciate them.

He said South Akim was the first Rural Bank to organize such a raffle draw in the Region to reward customers for their immense contributions towards the progress of the institution.

He further disclosed that the bank made a net profit of GH¢1,286,866.00 last year, as against GH¢663,957.00 in 2011, which represented a 94 per cent increase.

Mr Kpodji said the bank also increased its total assets from GH¢18,596,575.00 in 2011 to GH¢26,462,973.00 in 2012, adding that the shareholders fund also increased from GH¢1, 790, 378.00 in 2011 to GH¢2, 657,357,352.00 in 2012.

Mr. Kpodji stated that the bank would take advantage of information communication technology to offer improved products and services to its valued customers.

He announced that plans were advanced to install ATM machines at all the branches of the bank, especially in Koforidua, Suhum, and Asamankese, to make it easier for customers to engage in regular business transactions.
