The project started in July 2015
Stalls in the $198million Kumasi Kejetia Redevelopment Project have been completed.
The project, which started in July 2015, is left with the construction of roads and technical area that will house water, electricity, gas installations among others.
Mr Emmanuel Danso, the consultant for the project said this in an interaction with Adehye FM's Elisha Adarkwah when the Kumasi Traditional Council, chaired by Bantamahene, Baffour Asare Owusu Amankwatia VI, toured the project site on Tuesday, 30 January 2018.
Mr Danso could not tell the exact date the entire project will be completed, but indicated that a bulk of the project will be completed by March this year, if the Kumasi Traditional Council could resolve litigations and other matters impeding its completion.
The Kumasi Traditional Council on Monday, 29 January, 2018 ordered the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to demolish all structures impeding the early completion of the project.
The council gave the directive after the two feuding factions, the KMA and All Stars Constructions limited, owner of a structure that had to be pulled down, were hauled before them to explain why the project has delayed.
The Kumasi Metro Urban Road Director, Nana Opoku Agyemang, told the council that the project has delayed as a result of unavailability of a parcel of land for the technical area to house water, electricity and gas installations among others.
He stressed that until the technical area is developed, the Kejetia redevelopment project cannot be completed.
He added that the CEO of All Sates Constructions Limited, Nana Karikari Asante, recently built on the road which is supposed to be used for the construction of a three-lane road as part of the Kejetia project road network improvement.
He was however hopeful that the council will resolve all the problems that had delayed the project for it to be completed.
Baffuor Asare Owusu Amankwatia VI, speaking to the media insisted that structures impeding the completion of the project should be pulled down by KMA to enable the contractor to complete the project.
