Stanbic Bank has launched a campaign that would enable customers whose accounts are in the red to benefit from free overdraft facility to meet their needs.

Dubbed the “Red means Go” campaign it allows customers short of funds to be on the go with this arrangement.

“Whereas a red account normally signifies lack of funds and the inability to do the things that matter, Stanbic says a customer can be short of funds and still be on the go with this arrangement,” said Mr Ben Mensah, Head Personal Markets, Stanbic Bank.

To benefit from the facility, customers are requested to from November 1, 2014 to January 31, 2015, open a new salaried account with Stanbic to be able to access an interest free and fee free overdraft facility for one year.

Mr Mensah said Stanbic Bank customers now have the ability to override the red light and get the money they need to do the things they hold dear.

"Being in Red should not be a show stopper when you bank with Stanbic. You can still go on with your life.

We offer you the chance for an interest free overdraft that allows you to meet your pressing financial needs before ‘Pay Day’ and pay absolutely nothing for it,” he said.

Mr Mensah said the bank is aware of its customers’ needs and is rolling out this helping hand so that they have the freedom to move whenever they want, enjoy a life of convenience and not wait to the end of the month to make important moves.

By opening a salaried account, the customers stand to gain a number of benefits such as zero service fees on Current Accounts for three months, from first day of opening, free first Cheque Book, free SMS / Email Alerts and Internet Banking.

Others are a free International Visa Debit Card, free ATM withdrawals at Stanbic ATMs, free and prompt processing of Salaries and many more.

In addition, customers would have access to flexible and competitively priced personal loans, vehicle and asset financing as well as mortgage packages to suit their financing needs and access to a wide range of other Stanbic Savings and Investments products.

Mr Alhassan Andani, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bank, said the launch of the campaign is a demonstration of the bank’s commitment to customers and the country.

He said despite the harsh macro-economic conditions, the bank has been able to meet its target for the year and commended workers for their dedication and zeal.

Meanwhile, Stanbic has launched a mobile banking van to reach out to customers in under-served areas.
