The campaign aims at raising deposits and creating awareness for the Bank’s basket of savings products, principally the PureSave and Contract Save accounts.
The aim of Stanbic Bank in initiating the promotion is to help nurture the discipline needed for a savings habit in Ghana while playing its part as a corporate citizen.
As part of the larger drive, tidbits on personal financial matters will be carried in the media by the Bank’s partners in the financial knowledge awareness campaign.
Ben Mensah, Head of Personal Banking at Stanbic Bank, described the campaign as a win-win proposition for both the bank and customers.
“With the Free GHS100 campaign, our customers get the chance to save and earn attractive interest in addition to winning GHS100 for participating. Stanbic Bank on the other hand gets the chance to encourage as many people as possible to embrace savings as a worthwhile venture,” he said.
The Free GHS100 campaign is open to everybody-existing clients or new customers- with participation only limited to the opening of PureSave and ContractSave accounts.
With the opening of an account as part of the promotion, a participant’s account will instantly be credited with GHS100. The account will also earn attractive compounded interest over the period.
In addition, all participants get Free Visa Cards and access to the FREE Internet Banking service of Stanbic.
There is no limit on how much money can be deposited into an account monthly.
Individuals desirous of accounts for purposes such as school fees, a vacation or the purchase of household items can open different accounts for those reasons.
The Free GHS100 promotion follows a number of campaigns by Stanbic Bank aimed at entrenching a general savings and banking culture in Ghana, the latest being the recently introduced Stanbic SME Quick Loans product. The SQL product, which introduced hassle-free, collateral-free loans onto the market, has changed the way banks in Ghana handle the SME sector.
