Starbow apologises to passengers for Sunday’s near plane crash

The management of Starbow Airlines has apologized for Sunday’s incident on one of its flights air bound from Kumasi to Accra which caused a scare among its passengers.

The airplane veered off flight plan and was held up for well over an hour unable to land in Accra as scheduled because of bad weather resulting from Saturday’s heavy rains in the national capital Accra.

Among the passengers onboard the flight who were endangered by the development were council of state member Mrs Georgina Kusi and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Hon. Emmanuel Agyarko.

A pastor who led thunderous prayers in the plane Rev Evans Kyere Mensa recounted moments when the plane kept dropping sharply in altitude amidst announcements for all on board to strap up their seat belts and brace themselves for storms.

In a statement signed by its Chief Executive Officer/ Accountability Manager of Starbow James Eric Antwi and copied to Ultimatefmonline.com, the airline apologised and described it as a “moderate turbulence which is consistent with the unstable weather condition.”

Parts of the statement read, “Starbow apologises to its cherished guess especially to those who were on its flight S9103 on Sunday 9th April 2017 for any inconvenience this incident might have caused.”

“This sudden change in weather is consistent with the changing of the seasons and cannot certainly be anticipated. “
