Domestic airline operator Starbow will from this afternoon resume flight operations, following the completion of an extensive inspection on its fleet by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
One of the airline’s two British Aerospace 146 series aircraft in-service was grounded by the GCAA for an integrity check following an incident with one of its aircraft last week.
A Takoradi-bound Starbow flight 124 was last week forced to make an emergency landing at the Kotoka International Airport after the loss of hydraulic pressure in its right undercarriage shortly after take- off.
Starbow, in a release on Tuesday said: “It will be resuming its normal operations with effect from Tuesday November 4, 2014 with afternoon flights to Kumasi.
The inspection results provide us the assurance of the integrity of our equipment, operations and maintenance procedure. Starbow aircraft are regularly maintained and serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and as such duly endorsed and approved by the GCAA.”
The statement said: “the results of the inspection give us the much confidence that our operating systems provide the required level of safety in operation. We would like to reassure our customers and the general public that safety and security has been our main concern, and we will not compromise on these values."
