Stock index in moderate gain but volumes low

Accra, Sept. 05, GNA - Five price gains pushed the main stock index up in moderate trading on Wednesday but shares that changed hands were low.

The GSE All Share Index went up by 3.34 points at 5,570.00 points from 5,566.66 points.

Change for the year ended at 11.27 per cent. Market capitalisation ended higher at 11,715.36 million GH cedis from 11,133.41 million GH cedis.

There were five price changes, all positive. ECOBANK gained 0.0001 GH cedis at 1.5501 GH cedis, Guinness Ghana Breweries Ghana Limited inched up by 0.0001 GH cedis at 0.9672 GH cedis and Standard Chartered Bank went up 0.0500 cedis at 20.0500 GH Cedis. The remaining gainers were SG-SSB, which rose by 0.0075 GH cedis at 0.9400 cedis and Total Petroleum was up 0.0030 at 5.4850 GH cedis.
