Stock index inches up in low volume

Accra, Aug. 7, GNA - The main index of the Ghana Stock Exchange inched up in trading on Tuesday with volumes that changed hands closing under the 100,000-mark.

The GSE All Share Index was up by 0.82 points at 5,354.83 points from Monday's close of 5,354.01 points.

Shares that changed hands were 91,000, down from 225,700 on Monday, while change for the year ended at 6.97 per cent. There were seven price changes with financial stocks leading the way.

Ecobank Ghana Limited was 0.0015 Ghana cedis better at 1.4840 Ghana cedis, Enterprise Insurance gained 0.0060 Ghana cedis at 1.1560 Ghana cedis, Fan Milk Limited was up by 0.0010 Ghana cedis at 1.9730 Ghana cedis, and Ghana Commercial Bank inched up by 0.0001 Ghana cedis at 0.6876 Ghana cedis.

Standard Chartered Bank rose by 0.0050 Ghana cedis at 18.0920 Ghana cedis, PZ gained 0.0050 Ghana cedis at 0.7350 Ghana cedis while SG-SSB appreciated by 0.0002 Ghana cedis at 0.9078 Ghana cedis. Market capitalization was GH cedis 11,582.72 from GH cedis 11,582.10 million cedis.
