Accra, March 3, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) posted another impressive gain on Wednesday with shares also making a slight recovery. The GSE All-Share Index, the main market gauge, climbed by an impressive 198.3 points at 4,947.61 after 116.17 points jump on Monday.
Traded volumes also went up to 643,000 shares from 108,800 shares. Change for the year responded positively to the gain by going up to 39.24 per cent from 33.68 per cent on Monday.
There were 10 price changes, all positive, with banking and financial stocks leading the way. Ghana Commercial Bank was the top gainer with 1,307 cedis at 13,310 cedis.
Aluworks Limited gained 800 cedis at 4,800 cedis, Cocoa Products Company was five cedis better at 865 cedis, Guinness Ghana Limited made 25 cedis at 8,225 cedis, Home Finance Company gained 770 cedis at 7,370 cedis and Mechanical Lloyd went up by 40 cedis at 870 cedis.
Produce Buying Company appreciated by 313 cedis at 3,415 cedis, SSB Bank inched up by two cedis at 24,0002 cedis, the Trust Bank of Gambia was 100 cedis better at 12,300 cedis and Unilever gained 200 cedis at 17,300 cedis.
Market capitalization was better at 16,138.23 billion cedis from 15,343.78 billion cedis.
