T&T Team Discusses Gas Infrastructure Project

…Also South-South Co-operation With Ghana

A six-member delegation, led by the Minister of Energy and Energy Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (T&T), Hon. Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan, visited Ghana last week, to hold discussions with Ghana’s Energy, Finance and Foreign ministries, as well as the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) on Ghana’s Gas Infrastructure Development Project.

The team, which was in the country from 25th to 27th April, held discussions with Minister for Energy, Dr. Joe Oteng-Adjei, Minister for Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Kwabena Duffour and one of his deputies, Mr. Fiifi Kwetey, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Chris Kpodo, and Board Chairman of GNPC, Mr. Ato Ahwoi.

A release by the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago at the end of the visit said the National Gas Company (NGC) of T & T, whose Chairman, Mr. Larry Howai and President, Mr. Andrew McIntosh were in the delegation, was in the country to conclude Joint Venture negotiations with GNPC.

The other members of the team were: Mr. Andrew Jupiter, President, National Energy Corporation, Mr. Frank Look Kin, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Energy and Energy Affairs, Mr. Colin Connelly, Counsellor, High Commission of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Abuja, Nigeria and Mr. Hilton John Mitchell, Honorary Consul of T & T to Ghana.

According to the release, apart from the specific discussions regarding Ghana’s gas infrastructure project, the T & T minister also “took the opportunity to discuss expanded areas of South-South cooperation and to establish the basis for long-term economic and cultural cooperation between the Republic of Ghana and the republic of Trinidad and Tobago.” thebusinessanalystgh@gmail.com
