Tema, May 29, GNA -- Ms Elizabeth Mansa Banson, Managing Director of the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) on Friday launched the 20th Anniversary celebration of the Estate Department Welfare Association of the Corporation, and said the TDC will strategise to give it a new face.
She said the TDC's role does not end with the leasing out of lands and stressed the need for diversification of its activities by looking at other avenues in order to keep the organisation operational in future.
"We need to strategise to give TDC a new face so we cannot concentrate only in Tema and we have to look at other avenues." The Managing Director therefore, cautioned that the TDC cannot keep on employing new ones "because we are now formulating the future face."
She said management is working hard to look at other avenues TDC could use its competence to ensure its existence and called on the staff to remain united and continue to work harder to support management in order to achieve the desired results.
She commended the staff for the formation of the association which would enable management to communicate freely with the entire members of staff transparency. The Director of the Estate Department, Mr Joe Abbey, said if the TDC would better in the next 20 years there is the need to redouble its purposes.
The programme, which has "Fraternity, of union-the success story of the changing fortunes of Tema Development Corporation", as its theme has a number of activities including educational talk, clean-up exercises, as well as cultural, entertainment and thanksgiving to climax it. 29 May 04
