TOPP invest C267m in community devt projects

Twifo Ntafrewaso (C/R), Dec 29, GNA - The Twifo Oil Palm Plantation (TOPP) has, within one year, spent 269.7 million cedis on development projects in four communities in its catchments area.

The projects include electrification, construction of two KVIPs, renovation of two primary school blocks and the rehabilitation of bore holes in Eduabeng, Hemang, Mampong and Ntafrewaso.

Mr Abdul Malik Bin, the Managing Director of TOPP, told the GNA in an interview that the company has also supported national and district programmes such as the national polio immunization and the district inter schools competition.

He said more than 60 children of the company's employees have been awarded scholarships to enter secondary schools.

''As part of its community service TOPP has opened the doors of its clinic to the community and consultation, treatment fees were heavily subsidised by the company.
