Accra, July 29, GNA - About 15 foreign dignitaries from the International Trade Union (ITU) fraternity are expected to take part in the 7th Quadrennial Delegates' Congress of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) scheduled for August 3 to August 7.
The congress, which would be held on the theme: "Meeting the Challenges of Sustainable National Development in the 21st Century: The Role of Trade Unions", would take place at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.
A release issued in Accra and signed by Mr Kwaku Darko Aferi, Head of Public Affairs Department, said 350 delegates and observers from the 17 National Unions affiliated to the TUC would attend.
There would be elections of new officers to steer the affairs of the Union for the next four years.
Among issues to be discussed are the disaffiliation of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) from the TUC and the proposed amendments of the TUC Constitution.
