Take advantage of Vodafone’s 4G LTE speed - CEO to consumers

As part of efforts to serve customers better, Vodafone Ghana has launched its 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) service to provide faster data speeds with widest coverage.

Speaking at the event in Accra, Tuesday, outgoing Chief Executive Officer of the company, Yolanda Cuba expressed happiness over the development.

“This 4G investment is one of our biggest investments," she said. "It is also one of the biggest achievements outside the people I have worked. It let us enter the real world of data and using data for the betterment of the people of Ghana.”

Madam Yoland further indicated that she was of the greatest conviction Patricia Obo-Nai who takes over from her will take the company to greater heights.

Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Joseph Anokye who was present at the ceremony mentioned that the timing of the introduction of Vodafone’s 4G was spot on.

Mr. Anokye called for a fast roll-out of the new service so major cities across the country could get access to the new data experience.

He said: “The demand for faster and more stable connectivity is growing due to the increased use of applications that rely on data. Many applications need to communicate in rare, therefore a strong network connection has become essential requirement in our society."



Launching the event, Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekufful said:

"We are looking forward to greater empowerment, greater reliability, greater speed for customers, and stability which is part of what the Vodafone group is known for. As a Ministry, we stand ready to work with all stakeholders and partners in the industry to ensure that the telecom sector is properly guided with the relevant policies initiatives.

"Not only to enhance it but to make you more willing to invest in this sector to improve your profits and your tax paying ability and deliver better quality of services. We will continue to do so without compromising on quality and efficiency."



The LTE technology operates in the 2x5MHz frequency block in the 800MHz band as stipulated in the licence conditions agreed between Vodafone and the National Communications Authority (NCA) last December.
