The Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly has as at June this year collected GHC 1,696128.27 as its total revenue as against a total projection of GHC 2,326,375 Ghana cedis for this year.

Mrs. Christina Kobinah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said the assembly’s revenue performance for the first half of the year was encouraging and recommended that revenue collectors should be motivated to work harder.

The MCE was delivering her sessional address at the assembly’s second ordinary meeting at Tarkwa.

She tasked the revenue department to prepare a comprehensive revenue mobilization plan for the assembly and also send notices to all mining companies in the municipality to make the business operating license a pre-requisite in their vendor registration process.

The MCE used the occasion to congratulate Madam Janet Osei of the Tarkwa Nsueam Municipal Finance Office for winning the 2013 Western Regional best work award of the Controller and Accountants General Department.

Mrs. Kobinah expressed gratitude to the assembly members, heads of departments and staff of the assembly for their contributions and dedication towards the development of the municipality.
