Techiman Palm Oil Sellers make profit

Techiman (B/A) March 23 GNA - The Techiman Market Cooperative Palm Oil Sellers Society Limited made a profit of 27.543 million cedis in 2004 compared to the 17,275 million cedis it made in 2003. Mr James Okyere, Techiman Municipal Cooperative Officer, who announced this at the third annual general meeting of Society at Techiman, said the Society's total expenditure was 10,484 million cedis compared to 4,412 million cedis in 2003 and described the performance as remarkable.

Madam Mary Boatemaa, outgoing Chairperson of the Society, said 64 members were shareholders and appealed to other members to buy shares and to contribute effectively to transform the society to become one of the best in the Municipality.

She said the Society's current assets including cash at the Agricultural Development Bank stood at 30,587 million cedis. Madam Afia Kyeremaa, Assistant Market Queen, appealed to the members to be loyal and dedicated in their businesses and to pay their dues promptly.

Mr Okyere later inaugurated a seven-member executive with Madam Georgina Afia Damoah as President, Madam Yaa Amponsah, Vice President, Madam Yaa Pomaa as Assistant Treasurer. Mr Williams Gyan, Akosua Kruwah and Martha Asamoah are Executive Members.
