Staff of Tecno at GITTA Awards
Leading manufacturer of dual SIM smartphones, Tecno has been recognised the Most Popular Phone Brand of the Year at the 6th Ghana Information Technology & Telecom Awards (GITTA). The 6th Ghana Information Technology & Telecom Awards is the most celebrated industry awards in Ghana. The awards came off at the luxurious Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel on the 21st May, 2016.
Tecno beat off competition from very keen players in the industry to win the all-important accolade.
Commenting on the awards, Maxwell Techie, Managing Director at Tecno Ghana, expressed gratitude for the awards and promised that the award will motivate the company to continue to innovate and excel.
“This award is a testament of how far we have come in providing low budget smart phones for Ghanaians. Present at the Awards Night was the Honourable Deputy Minister of Communications Hon. Ato Sarpong and other dignitaries representing other African countries.
Tecno is touted the fastest growing mobile phone brand in Africa, and the market leader in sub-Saharan Africa.
According to the MD of Tecno, this recognition is only a proof of what the brand is doing and the massive investment committed to its operations in Ghana. In a related development, MobileZone, the main distributor of Tecno mobile phones in Ghana won the Mobile Phone Distributor of the Year.
The 6th Ghana Information Technology & Telecom Awards is the most celebrated industry awards in Ghana. Over the past five years, GITTA has grown to be the ‘Oscars’ of the ICT and Telecom industry attracting the crème de la crème and top decision makers in the sector. This year, the award ceremony features more award categories and certainly more entertainment.
