Telekom Malaysia Extends Ghana Deadline

Investors may stay cautious on Telekom Malaysia after company says it has set final deadline of Feb 19 (from Nov 30), to reach agreement with Ghana government on proposed additional investment in Ghana Telecommunications Co.

The new Ghana government didn't recognize the pact reached by earlier government with Telekom on investment. Berita Harian newspaper had reported in September, Telekom may incur MYR200 million loss in its investment in Ghana. Telekom Malaysia already owns 25.5% of Ghana Telecom.

Stock ended Friday at MYR9.05.(ABS)
