West Africa’s first ever MBTI® Personality assessment Focused firm launched in Accra.
The Member of Parliament for Obuasi, Honorable Eward Annin has urged corporate Ghana to embrace cutting edge solutions to people management in view of the centrality of people management to the profitability and development of any organization. He made these remarks today at the launch of PMI First Consult-West Africa’s first Training Firm with a focus on the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®).
“I therefore urge all corporate bodies to take advantage of this world class assessment tool to enhance employee relations and people management which would ultimately enhance productivity and profitability” he added. The Member of Parliament commended Dr. Augustine Ankomah and his team at PMI First Consult for introducing a cutting edge tool which would enhance the dynamics of people management in corporate Ghana; boost profitability and productivity and ultimately accelerate national development.
According to Dr. Augustine Ankomah- CEO of PMI First Consult; “productivity and efficiency requires good working relationships, teamwork, and employees who are motivated and co-operative. We all need and indeed have to cultivate a relationship-centred workplace. There are requirements for achieving this; however, the greatest is the need for an understanding of self and those around --By doing this, you can easily and intensely connect with them to solve problems at hand”. Dr. Ankomah revealed that irrespective of the need for tolerance of diversity in people at the workplace; the biggest challenge of most organizations is the acceptance of the fact that people are different! Thus, breeding contentions and conflicts which cost millions of Cedis annually. In his speech, the Member of Parliament underscored the need for quality training and development in Corporate Ghana; since this is the crux of any meaningful organizational development and stability. According to him, “It is not uncommon to identify many organizations that employ general one size fit all trainings for employees without identifying specific needs and tailor-made solutions. Thereby creating a gap in employee skill development and productivity”.
