Out of the hundreds of thousands of new properties developments across the world, only a select exceptional few go on to be successful in the International Property Awards. From those, only one can be crowned the overall World’s Best.
Over the past year, a panel of over 80 expert judges, chaired by four UK Lords, have studied and assessed thousands of entries from 115 countries to the world-renowned International Property Awards.
The winners at country level have already been decided, but the ultimate World’s Best Property Development winner will not be revealed until the 2017-18 International Property Awards on Monday 4th December during the awards ceremony at The Savoy Hotel London.
Contenders have now competed throughout the regional stages of the competition and three of the highest scoring nominees per category from each region will eagerly await the results to reveal the overall Africa regional winners and ultimately which development is the best in the world!
A range of African Property Developers who are in the running for the World’s Best award include:
Waterfall Management Company – Mixed Use Development category for the Waterfell Estate project located mid-way between Johannesburg and Pretoria on a 2200-hectare tract of land triangulated between Woodmead, Kyalami and Midrand, formerly known as the farm, Waterval. www.waterfall-estate.co.za
City of Joburg Property Company – Public Services Development for The Council Chamber project located at the top of Rissik Street, Johannesburg. The Council Chamber is an iconic structure that celebrates African principles of space making and symbolises the City’s transformation in line with the core values of transparency, accountability and accessibility.

They will compete against other companies and projects from across the globe to determine the World’s Best Architecture, Development and Interior Design
The awards, now in their 24th year, celebrate the highest levels of achievement by companies operating within Architecture, Real Estate, Interior Design and Development sectors. They are the world’s largest and most wide-ranging programme of awards in the property industry.
Over the course of 2017, the International Property Awards has received over 1700 entries from 115 countries.
Covering 48 different residential and commercial categories, regional heats are staged for Arabia, Europe, Africa, Canada, Central & South America, the Caribbean, USA, UK and Asia Pacific. These have been celebrated at gala presentation events in Bangkok, Dubai, London and Toronto during the course of the year.
President of the International Property Awards, Stuart Shield, says: “After a year-long process of evaluating and assessing many thousands of entries our judging panel is now ready to announce its final results. We will now reveal the finest property developments in each region and also those that have excelled overall to win the fiercely contested title of World’s Best.”
