Accra, Oct. 13, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor on Wednesday said there had been improvement in revenue mobilisation in the country. He, however, stressed the need for more institutional development in the Sector, adding: "Institutional development in revenue mobilisation is very critical."
President Kufuor announced this when Mr Jack Garvey, Chief Executive Officer of the Crown Agents for Overseas Governments and Administration Limited, UK, an international development company, on a two-day visit to Ghana paid a courtesy call on him at the Castle, Osu. He said the Company had been a concerned partner to Ghana and expressed appreciation for its role in capacity building to enhance revenue collection.
Mr Garvey said the Company was now developing new software for capacity building in revenue mobilisation for developing countries. Crown Agents had been a key partner of Ghana's economic development efforts through the provision of professional services to Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies particularly in the areas of procurement, revenue enhancement, public finance management and human resource management.
