Gomoa-Dawurampong (C/R), Aug.7, GNA- The third branch of the ARB APEX BANK will be commissioned in Kumasi on August 17, this year, to facilitate the operations of the various rural and community banks in the Ashanti Region
Last month, the bank established similar branches at Bolgatanga in the Upper West Region, and Takoradi in the Western Region, respectively, to accelerate development of the rural banking system in those areas. This was contained in a speech read on behalf of the Managing Director of the ARB
Apex Bank, Mr Emmanuel K. Kwapong, by the Head of the Human Resource and Administration Department of the ARB Apex Bank, Mr Kenneth Owusu-Twumasi, at the annual general meeting of the Akyempim Rural Bank, at Gomoa-Dawurampong, at the weekend.
He said that these branches would provide a range of banking services to the rural and community banks in their respective regions. Mr. Owusu-Twumasi announced that already, supply services were being rendered to all rural and community banks in the country through the use of bullion vans, and urged these banks to patronize these facilities because they are more secured, safer, and cheaper than other means of evacuating cash.
Mr. E. F. Anno, former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BOG) and the immediate past chairman of the Board of Directors of the Akyempim Rural Bank, was present at the meeting.
